A Multi-Faceted Passion: InspiredBy Malik wears many hats, each bearing the hallmark of his unshakable commitment to empowering others. He’s a renowned Motivational Speaker, an esteemed Ghsa and D2 Women’s Basketball Official in the SIAC conference, a skilled Life Navigator Manager, and a trusted Consultant.

 

A Member of the Community: Beyond his professional accolades, InspiredBy Malik is a proud member of the esteemed “100 Black Men Of Savannah,” an organization dedicated to mentoring and empowering the next generation. This role isn’t just a title for InspiredBy Malik; it’s a calling.

 

A Journey of Redemption: But InspiredBy Malik’s journey to this point wasn’t without its share of challenges. In his early years, he found himself entangled in a cycle that led him to juvenile detention a staggering ten times and even county jail on four occasions. At just 11 years old, he embarked on a turbulent path, including a daring escapade involving his grandmother’s van. It wasn’t until he was 15, and after his tenth stay in juvenile detention, that a profound change took hold.

 

A Dream Realized: In an American Government class, InspiredBy Malik glimpsed the requirements for the presidency of the United States. This sparked a dream, and he resolved to transform his life. Following a four-month stint in a boys’ group home in Dublin, Georgia, InspiredBy Malik returned home and began a journey of self-improvement.

 

Resilience in the Face of Adversity: His graduation from Savannah High School in District 3, where the class motto proudly proclaimed, “We’ll Make History,” was a testament to his determination. Yet, challenges persisted, including run-ins with law enforcement after graduation. It was the unwavering support of his phenomenal attorney, Stephanie Burgess, that saw him through these trials.

 

A Beacon of Change: Today, InspiredBy Malik stands at a pivotal crossroads in his mission. He has the unique opportunity to pioneer the “WREP” program, inspired by the model of LA’s Homeboys Industries, and become Savannah’s first Life Navigator for this groundbreaking pilot program. An arrest that threatened to derail his aspirations could not deter him, and he is now more committed than ever to leveraging his resilience for the greater good.
